Lech Walesa to Attend ϶Ƶ 2022 Graduation Ceremonies
Former Polish President will be presented with Honorary Doctorate
Lech Walesa, one of the most influential figures of the late 20th century, will attend New England College’s (϶Ƶ) 2022 graduation ceremonies as a special guest. In addition, the 1983 Nobel Peace Prize recipient will be awarded an honorary doctorate by the ϶Ƶ Board of Trustees.
϶Ƶ will celebrate its 76th graduating class of more than 500 students on May 14 at 10:00 a.m. on the Simon Lawn of ϶Ƶ’s campus in Henniker, New Hampshire.
“This is a remarkable opportunity for our graduating students to hear from someone who is a tireless champion of democracy and was a major catalyst in bringing the Cold War to an end,” said ϶Ƶ President Michele Perkins. “We are honored to host President Walesa on the campus of New England College.”
New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, the Commencement Speaker for ϶Ƶ’s 2022 graduation ceremonies, will also be awarded an honorary doctorate by the Board of Trustees.
