Concord Monitor: Concord Hospital Health System Welcomes New England College Nursing Cohort

Last month, Concord Hospital Health System welcomed this year’s cohort of 18 nursing students from the New England College class of 2027.
This accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program integrates classroom instruction with nine months of clinical training. Over the next two years, students will gain hands-on experience as licensed nursing assistants while completing clinical shifts across Concord Hospital Health System and learning under the guidance of a preceptor.
“This continued partnership with New England College aligns with Concord Hospital Health System’s mission of providing care close to home,” said Erin Collins, RN, vice president of nursing professional practice and development. “Throughout this program, students will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience that will advance their education while introducing them to the nursing profession. We’re proud to welcome this third cohort of students and support their journey while watching them grow into the next generation of compassionate caregivers.”
This summer, students will embark on a 14-week rotation, working alongside a licensed registered nurse preceptor. This unique program, which alternates between classroom learning and hospital work, enables students to apply their knowledge, enhance their skills, and complete their degree in three years. As health system employees, they will become familiar with organizational policies, experience different departments, and gain a comprehensive understanding of nursing across the health system. Of the 18 students, two will complete their clinical training in Laconia, while the other 16 will be trained in Concord.
